Tracking Africa Systems

The Spring Axle Load Monitor is designed to measure axle load and cargo on leaf spring suspension vehicles. The spring axle load control integrates into a fleet monitoring system and transmits the data as an analog signal.

The tracker converts this signal into a load value according to the calibration table. The spring axle load control position sensor is installed on the rear axle or rear bogie of the vehicle. A single sensor is sufficient to monitor the vehicle axle and the load.

Tasks

Load control and cargo weight control in vehicle tracking systems

Driver supervision, no sneaky cargo

No fines exceeding existing limits

Characteristics

High level of environmental protection; compliance with European and Russian automotive standards; the linear characteristic of the output signal simplifies data processing by a fleet monitoring system; the output signal is stabilized and does not depend on the voltage on board; protection against short circuits and cords.

Functioning principles

The Spring Axle Load Control measures the axle load using a pivot lever installed on a vehicle suspension. The sensor is mounted between the load bed (or the car chassis) and the suspended axle.

The output voltage of the sensor changes with the position of the lever. A tracking device receives the signal from the sensor and transmits it to the fleet monitoring server. The server software processes the data and generates axle load and cargo reports.
