Tracking Africa Systems

The 2 Bio fuel level sensor is specially designed for fuel tanks, which are regularly filled with different types of fuel. This is particularly relevant for vehicles which use biodiesel or which travel to several countries, as well as for tanks used for transporting fuel.

The 2 Bio fuel level detector automatically detects the new type of fuel in the tank and adjusts the measurement results. This feature allows to give the fleet manager precise data on the level and volume of fuel in the tank, correctly detect tank fill and fuel drain volumes.

In addition, the 2 Bio fuel level detector allows an indirect evaluation of the fuel quality. The 2 Bio fuel level detector is used as part of GPS tracking, vehicle telematics and fuel monitoring systems or as a replacement for the standard FLS.

Tasks

Monitoring the filling and emptying of the fuel tank

Fuel theft prevention

Fuel consumption monitoring

Fuel type change detection

The third 2 Bio fuel level sensor measuring electrode provides automatic detection of the change in fuel type. Automatic fuel type detection makes the 2 Bio fuel level sensor useful in preventing misuse or theft of different fuel types filled in the fuel tank.

Different types of fuels (summer diesel, winter diesel and especially biodiesel) have different permittivity coefficient values. This value influences the accuracy of the capacitive fuel level sensors. To obtain an accurate measurement result of the fuel level, a sensor must take into account the change in the coefficient of permittivity.

Built on new IoT Burger technology

IoT Burger turns the 2 Bio fuel level detector into a smart sensor capable of processing and analyzing fuel level data before sending it to a telematics unit or telematics service. This includes temperature correction, signal filtration and linearization, self-diagnosis of sensor operation.

Refining the data provides clear and accurate information about the volume of fuel remaining in the tank, refueling and fuel discharges from the tank. Self-diagnosis allows errors made during instillation and setup to be detected, and the appropriate problem-solving mode to be selected before removing the sensor from the fuel tank.
