The Diesel Fuel Flow Meter is designed to measure the consumption of diesel fuel in the fuel lines of vehicles and stationary engines. It is used as part of the GPS vehicle tracking system. In addition, the Diesel fuel flow meter records the working time of the engine in different working modes.

The diesel fuel flow meter is used for monitoring the consumption of:

• Diesel fuel;

• heating oil;

• other types of liquid fuels with a kinematic viscosity of 1.5 to 6 mm2 / s.

Diesel fuel flow meters, equipped with a display, are used as a stand-alone (stand-alone) solution for fuel consumption accounting, requiring no connection to a web server. Diesel fuel flow meters are more suitable for modern engines (common rail or pump fuel systems) of vehicles and stationary units.

Differential measurement of fuel consumption

The diesel fuel flow meter has two measuring chambers for the supply and return lines. The flow meter measures the fuel consumption in each line and calculates the difference between supply and return. The result is stored in an appropriate counter. The meter values ​​are sent to the telematics (monitoring) unit as digital messages (for Diesel fuel flowmeter with RS232, RS485 or CAN output).

Built-in battery

In the absence of an external power source, for example from the on-board network, the diesel fuel flow meter continues to record the data in the internal memory. When the external power is restored, all the accumulated data will be transferred to the integrated monitoring terminal.

Replaceable mud filter

Installed in the inlet of the Diesel fuel flow meter. Protects the flowmeter supply chamber from dirt and sand particles, which have passed through a fine filter. The mud filter greatly increases the reliability and durability of the flowmeter. The filter is replaced “on site”, without any disassembly operation or additional verification of the accuracy of the flowmeter and the integrity of the body.

Installing the Diesel Fuel Flow Meter

Diesel fuel flow meters are installed in both feed system lines – feed (feed) and return. Each chamber of the diesel fuel flow meter is connected to an appropriate line, the chambers are marked “F” for the supply line and “R” for the return line. The exact location of the flow meter installation depends on the specifications of the particular vehicle’s fuel system.

It is possible to install multiple Diesel fuel flow meters and connect them to a telematics unit via a single cable – especially useful for machines with multiple fuel consuming units (for example, a river boat with two propulsion engines, a boiler.
